If you’ve been in your Google My Business (GMB) dashboard in the last 30 days, you may have noticed a new feature called ‘More Hours’ now showing in the INFO section of your profile. Launched on May 13, 2020, and positioned right below your regular Hours section, More Hours helps your business communicate differences in it’s normal operating times to your customers.
These differences may include special times like Brunch, Happy hours, and Senior hours or it can announce specific services like Pickup, Takeout, Delivery, and Drive-through. While this may not seem like a major addition, it’s all about “at-a-glance” marketing that helps distinguish your business from others in your space and deliver more convenience to your customers.
Like many features in Google My Business, not every business type will get every More Hours category. For example, a bank or a restaurant may see “Drive-through” as an option but that selection may be absent for a manufacturer or attorney.
If you’re already familiar with how to set regular and special hours, then setting More Hours will be a breeze. If you’re new to Google My Business, setting hours is one of the easiest tasks in GMB.
- Once you log into your GMB dashboard using a Gmail or G Suite account, navigate to the Info section and scroll down until you see More Hours. Select the ‘pencil’ icon to open up a selection pop-up panel.
Add the option that applies to your specific special time or service. This will open up a second panel where you can then set the appropriate hours.
Add in the hours that apply to the specific category you chose. Then select, Continue.
After that, you can either select another category to add even more hours or simply select ‘Apply’ if you’re satisfied with what you have.
